Support HelpDesk is:

  • A weekly coffee event, where you can get specific help on Canvas or other instructional tools from your SILC Instructional Support group and your knowledgeable colleagues.
  • Come and go as you please.

All Flagship students are required to participate in a Capstone year. The Capstone year is a year in China consisting of a combination of direct enrollment at a Chinese university taking courses side-by-side with Chinese peers in each individual student's domain area, along with an internship utilizing Chinese in each individual student's future career field. This combined approach allows students to solidify both their academic and professional fluency in Chinese and represents a major step in their path to becoming true global professionals.

Students are capped at $20,000 for funding during participation in Flagship.

  • Up to $3,500 for the domestic summer program.
  • Up to $7,000 for the overseas summer program.
  • Up to $15,000 for the Capstone program.

The Chinese Language Flagship for management purposes will be disbursed twice. The specific disbursement schedule may vary each year.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the program will NOT be offered in a residential format, meaning that the program will not provide any housing to participants.  Instead, it will be in a hybrid format with all activities and classes during the first half of the program held in-person and the second half online. We will closely monitor the situation and make any further changes if necessary.

Students may compete in two categories: Novice (first year) and Intermediate/Advanced (second year and above).
