Congratulations on securing a spot in one of our French classes!

We are delighted to have you embark on this exciting journey with us.

Our team of dedicated and exceptional instructors is here to guide you as you delve into the richness of the French language and immerse yourself in its vibrant culture, all while honing valuable language skills.

To see which French course you have placed into, go to the Undergraduate Placement Testing page and look for the section titled "Placement information for advisors" at the bottom of the page.  Click on that title and you will see the “Language Placement Milestones and Scores” chart.

Lower-division Courses:
We provide a diverse range of course formats, catering to different learning preferences. Our offerings include hybrid courses, blending in-person sessions with online components, as well as fully online classes. For our on-campus students seeking an accelerated path, we proudly offer a one-year intensive track, featuring FRE 110 (a comprehensive alternative to the separate 101 and 102 courses) and FRE 210 (an equivalent to 201 and 202).

If you are interested in exploring this exciting opportunity or have any inquiries about our lower-division classes, including questions concerning your placement test scores, please don't hesitate to contact our Lower-Division Language Coordinator, Dr. Mariana Bahtchevanova at MarianaB@asu.edu

Upper-division Courses:
If your placement test score suggests that you should enroll in an upper-division course, you have three options: FRE 305, FRE 311, and FRE 312. You can select any of these classes (in any order) and even choose to take two or all three simultaneously.

For inquiries about our upper-division language classes, please email the respective course instructor and review the syllabus posted on myASU.
